Opal's Odyssey
Opal's Odyssey is a budding graphic novel based on the universal human struggles of a journey through life, arriving at the destination, and figuring out what to do next.
Upon graduating from college, I was prompted to develop a storyline. Shapes, space, and color were all that I could initially perceive of such a task, but I stuck to it.
Today we have a small, yet growing portfolio of different illustrated frames from the story.
Beginning with the character sheets for exploration, I was able to roughly map out what I want the protagonist to look like, what I want her to behave like. Next was the environment that Opal's story would lie in. Landscapes. So many landscapes that are simultaneously real as they are surreal.
As more of these environments are imagined, documented, and executed this portfolio will grow into a full novel.
