Life Beyond the Eye

The concept of time is such an enigma to me.

(You the reader, are currently being instructed to get cozy before reading the rest of this entry.)

A day, a night, a week, month, quarter, year, decade... blah blah blah. Words to express aging and decomposition. What happens when we take away the lens of progression?

Seriously.

What happens when you sit down with yourself and genuinely show up to be curious beyond the norm?

I see "time" everyday in the growth of my hair, the ache in the back of my knee, the way the leaves change and fall from their trees, but what I do not see is the "clock" -- the visual representation of life and mortality, and yet everyday we all, collectively, experience life simultaneously, but at different "times".

Equally as rattled as I am at awe at the terrific scale of this thought process.

It makes me consider what I do, how and when I do it. Making is still my love, but I think my reasoning has changed. I feel the urge to just be, more often now. Not to document as much whilst not to exclude the feelings of savoring the moment. Balance.

Learn to "make" in different capacities: cooking, gardening, nurturing, self care/nourishment, being a villager, and this will all inform the Artist.
